Thousands of passionate Argentine fans came together to create a massive mural featuring the image of the 36-year-old soccer star, Messi, to show their support and send a powerful message.

Balneario 12, a popular resort in Mar Del Plata, Argentina, has come up with a one-of-a-kind project. To celebrate Argentina’s one-year anniversary of winning the world championship, a massive mural of Messi has been created on the resort’s football field. The talented artists behind this impressive piece are Grupo Sismo, known for their amazing street paintings throughout Argentina.

The unveiling of Messi’s massive murals in late December was attended by Chiqui Tapia, the head of the Argentine Football Federation, and several ex-players. Starting January 2, fans will be able to visit the Balneario 12 resort and write messages on the wall near the football field dedicated to Messi. This initiative aims to pay tribute to Messi while also drawing more visitors to the area for some relaxation. Once the mural is filled with messages from fans, they will be passed on to Messi. The first messages on the mural came from children and former players.

“Leo, my heartfelt gratitude”, “You’re truly an idol”, “Thank you for your unrelenting determination” are just a few messages from devoted fans. Turco Garcia, a legendary figure from Huracan Club, expressed, “Leo is a force of nature and he truly deserves all the accolades.” Daniel Montenegro, formerly of Marseille and Argentina, declared, “Messi is simply unparalleled in the annals of football history.” Balneario 12, a renowned resort linked with major football events in Argentina, paid tribute to the late Maradona in 2020 by featuring his image on the poolside.
