A heartbreaking video has been making rounds on social media lately. The clip features a mother dog pleading with a man not to abandon her and her puppies. The footage, shared by Kluang Johor Stray Dog Home, shows a man driving his car into a rescue shelter’s premises. He then gets out of the vehicle and brings along an adult dog as well as a package containing five newborn puppies who still have their eyes shut.

As he dropped off the puppies at the property’s entrance, the man prepared to depart. However, before he could leave, the mother dog jumped up on his legs and prevented him from moving forward. Despite his attempts to shake her off, she remained steadfast, seemingly begging him not to abandon her and her offspring. Unfortunately, her appeal was unsuccessful, and the man eventually drove away.

Once the abandoned animals were found, they were taken to a veterinarian by the shelter for further examination. The initial diagnosis revealed that the mother dog had developed breast cancer. However, further investigations revealed that the bumps on her nipples were not cancerous but a dangerous uterine condition known as pyometra. As soon as the puppies are done nursing, the mother dog will have to undergo surgery to remove the tumor. Additionally, all the puppies will also need to be spayed or neutered to prevent the spread of their mother’s illness.

The shelter was facing financial difficulties on top of their worries when the lockdown occurred. They were responsible for more than a thousand animals and providing them with food became a challenge. The shelter’s contributions had significantly decreased, making it necessary to seek additional funding to feed the animals. The man’s carelessness had added to their already heavy burden, further upsetting them. Sadly, the shelter struggled to find a solution for the newly arrived dog family due to financial constraints. To raise money, they launched a social media campaign and humbly welcomed even the smallest donations. Kind-hearted individuals helped spread the word and donated what they could. Unfortunately, the shelter later announced that two of the puppies didn’t survive.

According to reports, the person responsible for abandoning the mother dog and her puppies has since contacted the shelter president to express their apologies. They claimed that the dogs were strays and that their own financial struggles made it impossible for them to care for them.
