In a serene locality, a heartening tale of feline love was about to unravel. Daisy, a cute kitten, was recently welcomed into a cozy household. The family was anxious about introducing her to their elder cat, Oliver, hoping for a smooth transition. However, the response they received from Oliver surpassed all their expectations and left them spellbound.
As soon as Daisy entered the room, her inquisitive gaze fell upon Oliver, who was all too eager to welcome her into his fold. With a gentle purr and a rub of the head, Oliver embraced Daisy as his own, showering her with unending love and attention.
Shelby Thorpe, the creator of Shelby’s Kitten SafeHouse situated in Oregon, was recently notified by a trap-neuter-return rescuer about a litter of kittens in early March. The mother cat was unable to care for them, and only one kitten managed to survive in the harsh environment. The little feline was shivering and required immediate attention, so Shelby decided to take her in and bottle-feed her. According to Shelby, one of her resident cats was curious to meet the new addition to the family shortly after they brought the kitten home.
Oops! I left the kitchen door open while I was getting something and when I returned, my feline friend Polar was introducing himself to the new addition, Cleo. It was evident that Polar was going to be an excellent big brother to her. However, things weren’t all smooth sailing for Cleo as she had fleas and what appeared to be early signs of eye infections. To help her, Shelby cleaned her up, treated her eyes, and fed her tirelessly.
The little one found comfort in a cozy nest and a cuddly toy that had a heartbeat. This brought about a positive change for the young one. The owner was relieved when they noticed that the baby was eating well from the bottle which gave them hope for her recovery. Cleo was delighted to have a full tummy all the time and never had to worry about going hungry again.
As the pounds started to add up, her curiosity grew and she explored her surroundings, using her nose to sniff out any traces of the cats living there. When a new kitten arrived in a carrier, Polar couldn’t resist investigating as much as she could during the initial two weeks, even though the kitten had to be kept in quarantine.
After a short while, Cleo began to venture out of her cozy nest and explore her surroundings. She became more active and playful, and was excited to spend time with other cats. Shelby made sure to spend lots of quality time with Cleo, giving her plenty of cuddles and love to help her feel secure. As Cleo grew more confident, she started interacting more with other kittens, just like most feline babies do at this stage.
After confirming that Cleo was in good health, Polar was finally introduced to her. He had been eagerly waiting for the chance to formally meet her. As soon as they were introduced, the caring cat immediately took Cleo under his care and began grooming her by cleaning her face and ears.
According to Shelby’s account shared with Love Meow, Polar is fulfilling his responsibilities as a mom with great care. He has started to playfully pounce towards her and walks over her while she walks, using his long legs to his advantage. Additionally, Polar also makes sure that his mom stays clean by giving her baths and holds her with his front legs so she does not escape during bath time.
Whenever Baby Cleo is around Polar, she’s on cloud nine. She loves snuggling with him and craves his attention. Moreover, she has become quite fond of cuddling with her human family as well. She enjoys spending time on her foster mom’s lap and being close to them.
Despite a difficult beginning, Cleo has made an impressive recovery and is now flourishing under the care of a kind foster family. With a contented expression on her face, she drifts off to sleep every night, secure in the knowledge that she is cherished and adored.
