A pregnant two-year-old cat named Shelby roamed the streets in search of shelter and food. One day, a certain Good Samaritan noticed her and fed her – and soon Mommy gave birth to several wonderful babies.

When her children got older, they were captured and taken to a local animal shelter. Soon, Purrfect Pals, a rescue group in Arlington, Washington, took the entire cat family from the shelter and placed them in a foster home where they could be cared for by specialists.

While being examined by the veterinarian, the doctors were suddenly surprised to find that the cat was pregnant again, although she was still feeding her first litter!

Seeing such a case, John, an experienced animal caretaker, decided to personally take care of Shelby’s mom and her kittens.

Shelby gave birth to four kittens on August 25th. Everyone was healthy and strong, and only one baby named Sparky could not survive. He fought for his life for 4 days, but lost in this fight …

On the day of farewell to Sparky, when he gradually calmed down in the arms of his mother, to everyone’s surprise, Shelby gave birth to her fifth kitten!

It happened in the car when Shelby was being driven from the vet. The tiny surprise was named Lizzy – it was a girl!

“This kitten was born very playful and strong… Lizzy was a total surprise as she was born four days after all the other kittens!” doctors say.

Shelby kept the kitten next to her all the time, fed, licked and looked at her every move!

At 15 days old, Lizzie was already eating with a vengeance and gaining weight like a champ! She was a bit small for her age, according to John, but very active!

Her tiny paws became more stable, and in the weeks that followed, Lizzie got stronger!

She jumped on everything she could and played non-stop with her mom and siblings!

By the way – Shelby, of course, is a mother, but she loves to play like a little kitten and loves attention.)

When it came time to move into a new home, the guardians knew they didn’t want to separate Shelby and Lizzie.

On November 17, the mother cat and her daughter ended their stay at the shelter and were ready to start a new journey!

These two have found a wonderful family with new owners, where they have two more fluffy sisters.

Shelby and Lizzy have already settled into their new home and made friends with all the family members!

Mom Shelby and her wonderful kitten Lizzy are now forever inseparable, happy and loved!
