In a tragic turn of events, a loyal Dalmatian lost its life to a snake bite while protecting its family from a lethal cobra. The incident took place in Bhubaneswar, Odisha where Ameen Sharif was awakened by Tyson’s determined barks as he fought the venomous Indian cobra.

Ameen and his family were left amazed by their courageous Dalmatian who successfully killed a venomous snake in their yard. Although they were relieved, they were stunned when their beloved pet suddenly became ill and appeared to be in pain. Despite feeling powerless, they attentively observed as Ameen checked Tyson’s condition for signs of snake bites and noticed blood on the left side of his face.

After discovering a snake in his backyard, the man reached out to the snake hotline and shared a video of the creature with specialist Subhendu Mallik. The expert identified the snake as an Indian cobra and advised the family to take their dog to the vet immediately. Unfortunately, since it was already 2 a.m., they were unable to find a vet in time, and their dog passed away within 30 minutes.

Amin recounted to Ommcom News the scary moment when he saw Tyson, their pet dog, fighting with a cobra just a foot away from their porch. Sadly, the snake managed to bite Tyson, and despite their efforts to contact a veterinarian for an anti-venom dose, no one answered the phone at that time. They were able to save themselves from harm, but unfortunately, they couldn’t save Tyson’s life.

Mr Mallik expressed his family’s gratitude for the loyalty and heroic sacrifice of their beloved dog. Sadly, the lack of emergency facilities for animals in Odisha was highlighted when the same dog died without medical treatment. It is a shame that while there are many hospitals open 24 hours for humans, there are not enough veterinary care facilities available. The brave act of the dog will always be remembered by the family as a testament to the incredible bond between humans and their furry companions.
