Several reports came in two days ago regarding a distressed dog that was unable to use her hind legs after being struck by a car.
It was apparent that the mourning dog had recently delivered a litter of pups and was longing for them. Fortunately, the dog, which appeared to be immobilized and possibly with a fractured limb, was saved.
It was believed that Sinead, the dog, was still pregnant since her puppies were nowhere to be found. To confirm this, she underwent X-rays from Doc Pierre and it was discovered that she had a damaged spine that affected her hind legs’ nerves. Nonetheless, her ability to urinate and defecate at the shelter suggests that these functions are still intact despite her injury.
There is hope for recovery through laser therapy, which is why a treatment plan was created for seven consecutive days. Fortunately, after just five days of treatment, the patient was able to eat, drink, and have bowel movements independently. Additionally, there was notable progress in bone growth and muscle development after thirteen days.
Despite the slight weakness, there is optimism that the individual will gain strength through additional therapy sessions. The individual has shown signs of improvement after a month, but it is uncertain if they will regain the use of their legs. Hopefully, the individual will find a loving family to call their own.
