Rihanna is often regarded as the Met Gala’s queen, but she admitted to having reservations about her over-the-top looks now and again. During an Access Hollywood interview on Wednesday, the bad gal revealed that even she had doubts about her Guo Pei couture gown at the 2015 Met Gala before stepping out on the red carpet. Rihanna was promoting her new Fenty Skin products during the interview.

On that particular night, we had to carefully plan how we would get in and out of the car. We had to coordinate everything, from who would sit by the door to where we would place our coats. I was scared to step out of the vehicle because I felt like I was doing too much. As I drove past the red carpet, all I could see were beautiful gowns, and I thought I looked like a clown. I feared that people would laugh at me. I kept circling the area three times, hesitant to step out. In the end, I said to myself, “Whatever, let’s go.” I don’t regret it.

In the long run, the vocalist feels that it was all worth it as her appearance sparked a never-ending supply of amusing memes. She particularly enjoyed the one featuring a frying pan with an egg, deeming it to be of legendary status.
