Sister Wives stars Janelle Brown and Kody Brown are no longer acting as husband and wife, but a recent transaction seems to suggest she’s left a few stones unturned. This mom of six made famous by the TLC series just put a ton of money into Coyote Pass. So, what’s up with that?
Sister Wives: Janelle Brown Still Has Ties to Kody Brown
While Kody Brown no longer considers Janelle Brown his wife, it looks like she still holds some of the purse strings for the father of 18. Janelle and her best friend Christine Brown seem to be fancy-free these days living a life without Kody Brown.
These two ladies from the Sister Wives show, stayed close after they left their shared husband. But they don’t seem to have much to do with the other two ladies Kody also married. That would be the first wife. Meri Brown, along with the last wife he married, Robyn Brown. Today both seem estranged from the other two wives who they lived with for many years.

It looks like Christine tied up her loose ends with Kody. She mentioned this last season on the Sister Wives show. Basically, it boiled down to her trading her lot at Coyote Pass for the house she sold in Flagstaff.
Janelle lived in a rental property once coming to Flagstaff, so, she didn’t own a home there. But she does own a lot and has partial interest in ownership of another piece of land on Coyote Pass.
Janelle and Kody Pay Off Mortgages on Two Lots
Sister Wives’ ex-spouses, Kody Brown, and Janelle Brown, recently got together to pay off some of the property on Coyote Pass. Kody Brown’s name is on every one of the lots, along with one or two of his wives or ex-wives for each parcel.
Janelle and Kody paid off a parcel in Janelle and Kody’s name. They also paid off a parcel that he owns with Robyn Brown.
Each parcel was $170,000, and the reports have it stamped paid in full on both those lots by the bank that held the mortgages.
This looks like a precursor to something happening with Coyote Pass. Sister Wives fans seemed confused over this transaction.
Instead of severing ties with Kody, it appears Janelle dug herself in a bit deeper. Instead of sharing mortgages, she now owns the land outright with him. So, this leaves a lot of assumptions being made and some of the ones popping up online are very interesting today.
Sister Wives: Janelle Cutting or Strengthening Ties?
What does this mean for Janelle Brown? It’s possible she still plans to build her forever home on Coyote Pass. Janelle never said she scrapped that idea.
Many negative events have taken place since they first purchased Coyote Pass. So, it’s hard to believe that’s where this Sister Wives mom wants to settle.
From the latest reports, Janelle and Christine have a lucrative business going. The duo promotes a healthy drink product. Then posts over the last few months show Janelle and her kids spending lots of time with Christine.
So, Janelle Brown seemed to build a new life away from Kody and the majority of the Sister Wives family. She’s seen in photos with Christine and David Woolley on outings lately and most of them are in Utah.
With that said, maybe this isn’t Janelle Brown getting ready to build. It’s possible she’s paying off that parcel so that she can sell it. Maybe Kody needs to sell the two parcels that they just paid off in order to give Janelle her interest in the land. Her name appears on more than one of the lots in the document above.
Not Completely Severed from Kody?
This is just some of the speculation swirling around today as to why Janelle Brown would pay off two parcels of land with her ex-husband. After watching her new life unfold on social media, it’s hard to believe she’d move to Coyote Pass. Or that she still wants to own anything with Kody.
But some speculate she paid it off to start building her forever home like she originally planned. Many other Sister Wives fans assumed Coyote Pass would go up for sale since Kody only has one wife left.
So, who knows what Kody Brown’s plans are with the land that was supposed to be the Brown family’s forever home or forever homes? This type of intrigue between the seasons tends to bring the fans back to the TLC series for the next season that’s in the works.
