A sign that reads “free” is sure to catch anyone’s eye, especially when it’s placed in front of a store. However, the individual who took a closer look probably didn’t anticipate discovering two tiny kittens, only three weeks old, who were malnourished and suffering from a severe parasite infestation.
In early April of 2022, two kittens were discovered in a box labeled “free” outside of a supermarket near Lutz, Florida in the United States. The local animal rescue organization, AnimalLuvr’s Dream Rescue, was immediately alerted to their plight. Unfortunately, the kittens were severely malnourished and infested with fleas. It is unclear how long they had been there, but their frantic meowing indicated that they needed help urgently. Thankfully, a volunteer named Nadija from the organization took them in and provided them with a foster home.
The kittens that arrived at Nadija’s doorstep were in a terrible state – they were famished and crying inconsolably. With great concern and care, Nadija quickly fed them and kept them warm, allowing them to catch up on some much-needed rest while they cuddled up against each other. Although they had initially struggled with adapting to formula milk, the kittens eventually acclimatized within 24 hours. Unfortunately, after a few days, they experienced some complications. Nonetheless, with the vet and Nadija working around the clock, the kittens were nursed back to health and regained their appetite. Before long, they were able to enjoy Nadija’s cozy home again, gaining weight and becoming lively once more.
Two young cats have become inseparable after going through an ordeal together. Although they are friendly with other animals, such as Nadija the German Shepherd, they will only be offered for adoption as a pair. These adorable felines have great personalities, love to chat and explore their surroundings, and always stick together. Nadija can vouch for their bond and companionship.
