During their lunch break, Jacks Anderson and his spouse caught the attention of a stranger who happened to be a friendly black pit bull named Poppy. The adorable homeless pup was situated on the pavement below their bar stools, curiously observing them as they indulged in their meals.
During their lunch break, the couple came across the homeless dog once again. They noticed that the dog had a large pregnant belly and felt compelled to assist her in some way. According to Jacks, the dog continuously gazed at them but never made any attempt to approach or beg for food. The stall owners tried to chase her away, but she was too scared and ran away. The dog, Poppy, was a kind and gentle black pit bull that had been lingering on the pavement while they were eating their meal.
As the couple was heading back home from their lunch, they came across the homeless dog once again. This time, they both observed that the dog was heavily pregnant and felt an urge to assist her in some way. Jacks shared with The Dodo, “She kept staring at us but didn’t approach or ask for food.” The vendors tried to catch her, but she ran away, probably due to fear. Finally, Poppy found herself in a safe and comfortable environment after spending a considerable time on the streets. Jacks stated, “We stopped there to allow Poppy to settle down a bit. However, surprisingly, she was more composed than I had expected.” My wife was comforting Poppy, and I captured the moment when Poppy cried. It was an unusual sight for me as I had never witnessed a dog expressing emotions before, and it left a lasting impression on me.”
After taking Poppy to the veterinarian to be treated for fleas and parasites, the man and his wife were relieved to find out that their new furry friend was in good health. They happily took her home and spent her first few days with them getting to know her one by one. Poppy mostly slept during this time and quickly became accustomed to lounging on the sofa. However, in recent days, she has become more active and shown an interest in the other dogs in the household. Jack, the man of the house, has noticed that Poppy now follows him around instead of napping. Although the couple initially planned on adopting Poppy, she has quickly become an essential member of their family. Nacho and Frida, the couple’s other rescued dogs, have welcomed Poppy into their pack, and it feels like she was always meant to be a part of their family.
Poppy’s puppies will remain with the family until they are ready to be adopted and placed in caring homes. Jacks added that Poppy herself will not be given away as the family is still getting to know her and establishing a bond with her. He expressed his desire not to subject her to the stress of adjusting to a new environment again. Poppy deserves a more stable and predictable life.
