A couple of years back, Nicole Böhm came to the rescue of two adorable kittens named Elli and Rosie who were dwelling on a farm in Germany. These felines were in a sorry state – they were small in size, infested with mites, and plagued with infections. Nicole made up her mind to adopt both siblings and brought them home.

At some point in time, Böhm observed an unusual occurrence on Elli’s coat and was unsure of its cause. Being the responsible pet owner, she decided to take her to the vet for a checkup. To her surprise, Elli was diagnosed with vitiligo, a peculiar medical condition that results in the loss of pigmentation in the fur and skin, leading to a change in color.

In 2017, white spots started appearing on her fur and by 2018, she had turned almost entirely white. What was once a different cat is now Elli, with stunning black markings around her eyes and ears and a coat of beautiful white fur. This transformation took two years.

Although Elli has gone through a significant physical change, her kind temperament has remained consistent. Her new appearance only adds to her charm, and the most crucial aspect is that she is healthy and content. According to Böhm, Elli’s personality has not altered in any way. Regardless of her appearance, she is still just as delightful, lovable, and playful as the day she was first adopted.
